The Venice Equestrian Tour (VET) kicked off on Jan. 15 at Fox Lea Farm, 800 N. Auburn Rd., Venice—Southwest Florida’s premier horse show facility. For nine weeks, Fox Lea Farm is hosting its hunter/jumper winter series, including the popular “Show Jumping Under the Stars” each Friday night. Spectators can watch world-class riders compete for hefty cash prizes every week, Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., until March 16.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the “Show Jumping Under the Stars” series. The milestone coincides with the reveal of a new spectator pavilion and synthetic footing in the main competition rings, making Fox Lea Farm the second-largest horse show ring in Florida. According to Kim Aldrich Farrell, COO of Fox Lea, they anticipate record attendance this year.

Show Jumping Under the Stars will take place every Friday from Jan. 17 through March 14, 2025. The $5,000 National Hunter Derby starts at 3:30 p.m., and the $24,999 Grand Prix begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 (proceeds benefit more than nine local charities), with VIP tables available. Parking is free. For more information, check out Fox Lea Farm here.

About Fox Lea Farm

While the “Show Jumping Under the Stars” series celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, Fox Lea Farm’s history dates back to 1983, when David and Linda Aldrich purchased the land with the goal of building a premier horse show facility for riders and spectators. The farm’s 46 acres now host 42 annual events.

Fox Lea Farm’s “Grass Roots to Grand Prix” Hunter/Jumper series began in 1985. Today, the event awards more than $1.4 million in prizes and awards each year. “Grass Roots to Grand Prix” is only one of 20 nationally rated shows held at the farm, making it not only a premier destination for riders and enthusiasts, but also a major economic driver. Florida’s horse industry yields a $6.5 billion annual impact and provides more than 72,000 jobs statewide.
