Previously known as Bath + Racquet, the iconic 1969 venue was a hub for tennis enthusiasts, hosting prominent events such as the Virginia Slims of Sarasota women’s tennis tournament. That legacy is about to be enhanced. On April 9, the club will break ground for its new development—a luxurious four‑story project featuring 256 condominiums.

The condominiums offer over 20 different floor plans, ranging from one‑ to three‑bedroom layouts, including seven three‑story penthouses. Units are currently priced in the $700s per square foot, presenting a unique opportunity to own in one of Sarasota’s most highly anticipated developments. The majority of units have been pre‑sold since sales began in 2023, including all one‑bedroom units. For interested buyers, the remaining units are available around $700 per square foot.

Tennis legend Tommy Haas

Bath + Racquet is collaborating with tennis legend Tommy Haas, who will serve as the Global Ambassador and Club Curator for the development. Haas, a former ATP #2, moved from his native Germany to the Sarasota area in the ‘90s, where he trained at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy before turning pro. His goal is to create a state‑of‑the‑art facility in an area that shaped who he is as a player. He will use his decades of experience to ensure the development honors its historic roots while offering a world‑class tennis experience.

“This is an incredible full‑circle moment for me,” says Tommy Haas. “I moved to this area when I was 11 years old to pursue my dreams of turning pro. I am thrilled to be part of bringing back this historic landmark, which holds a special place in Sarasota’s sporting history. As the Global Ambassador and Club Curator, my goal is to honor the legacy of the original venue while infusing it with my passion and expertise for tennis.”
