International Chalk Festival returns to Sarasota this Fall

Winner of the Best Event in Sarasota County for over 14 years, this three-day event will turn downtown Sarasota into an al fresco museum of modern art. Over 150 local and international artists will be participating, creating oversized masterpieces in chalk right on the street, publicly interactive 3D illusion art, and much more.

International Chalk Fest will take place in the Burns Square neighborhood, Downtown Sarasota on S. Orange and S. Pineapple Avenues, November 8 – 10, 7 am – 7 pm.

Bill Baranowski, who has participated in the Chalk Festival since 2014, states, “The Sarasota Chalk Festival is considered one of the most important pavement art festivals in the world that connected artists worldwide and is known for hosting more debuts and advancements of the artform than any other.”

For first time in US history,  Flower Carpet Master artists assemble together

For those already familiar with the Chalk Festival, this year will boast an exciting, new exhibition: Flower Tapestries, an art form that uses natural elements like flowers and sand to produce stunning art. Another notable addition, says Executive Director, Denise Kowal, will be delegations of Flower Carpet Master Artists.

The Flower Carpet Master Artists will travel to Sarasota from Genazo di Roma and Gerano Italy; Canary Island, Spain; Mexico; India; and Japan. It will be the first time in US history that these esteemed artists will be working together in the same spot. This is an assemblage of international talent you won’t want to miss.
