Sarasota-Bradenton Airport (SRQ) has unveiled its brand-new concourse, marking a significant milestone in the airport’s evolution as a major Florida gateway. The $72 million project, completed in just 16 months, is part of a comprehensive master plan to accommodate the airport’s growth. The new concourse features five additional gates, modern amenities, and new dining options, including the full-service Anna Maria Oyster Bar. These enhancements aim to improve the passenger experience for the 11 airlines operating out of SRQ.
The concourse reveal coincides with Allegiant Airlines’s stunning new airplane wrap for their Airbus A320. According to Allegiant’s press release, the design features “a flowing ribbon encircling the fuselage, a prominent logo, and a sunburst tail, complemented by a splash of colors emblematic of Florida’s pristine oceans and coastal treasures.” The engine cowlings showcase starfish and seashells, reflecting the Sarasota-Bradenton region as a paradise for beachgoers, beachcombers, and nature lovers.

This homage to Sarasota’s marine life symbolizes Allegiant’s partnership with key stakeholders, including the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and Visit Sarasota County. Since beginning operations at SRQ in 2018, Allegiant has expanded its services to include 31 non-stop flight destinations, elevating the airport’s reputation as a hub in the southwest region.
“This collaboration is a powerful representation of a shared goal to make the Gulf Coast more accessible to visitors,” said Erin Duggan, President and CEO of Visit Sarasota County. “The custom design is a striking celebration of our region and Allegiant’s expanding routes from SRQ, making it easier than ever for travelers to experience the beauty and character of our destination.”
