Olaf’s Ice Cream Shop has been a creamy heaven since 1982

Located in the heart of Sarasota’s vibrant Siesta Key Village, Olaf’s Ice Cream Shop (5208 Ocean Blvd.) serves old-fashioned ice cream produced locally in Sarasota by Yoder’s Southern Creamery. The regular lines of people outside attest to the high quality of the ice cream, as do I.

Since opening in 1982, Olaf’s has been family-owned and operated for the entirety of its 42-year history. While they offer staples like chocolate and vanilla made to creamy perfection, crowd favorites like pistachio, strawberries and cream, and chocolate fudge brownie are worth stacking on top of each other on the same waffle cone.

Make sure to pop back into Olaf’s regularly to check what rotated in on their seasonal menu. The seasonal menu offers specialty ice creams like key lime pie, peach, peppermint, pumpkin swirl, and orange pineapple. Check out the full menu here.

Olaf’s is right by the nation’s number one beach

Olaf’s is perfectly located in Siesta Key Village, right across the street from the nation’s number one beach, Siesta Key Beach. Siesta Key Beach is known for its soft white powdery sand and dazzling azure waters.

Nothing invites relaxation and rejuvenation like taking your milkshake, hot fudge sundae, or towering waffle cone out onto the beach. Just be careful not to get your goodies from Olaf’s too sandy.
